Participated in Adventure Sports
My debut in Adventure Sports, and as a Team representative. 32 teams, 4 members in a team. Oraganized by Club Solaries and Persistent Systems.

Phase-1 : (Sinhgad Trekking) Early morning reporting @ Sinhgad trekking base 6:30 AM, so need to wake up @ 5 AM, my bike speed was 40-45 Kms, and it was very cold morning.
7:30 AM all 130 members started trekking, my role is to push my teammates so we can reach in first slot (within 30-45 mins), and get 100 pts. My teammates from Haryana, and Uttaranchal, (in local language: all pahadi’s), but i am the one who is dragging, and thanks to lalit (football player, he has good legs muscle) and Baljeet for pushing me, and at the end we were second team to reach, reached in 45-60 mins slot, so got 75 pts. It was tough for me, and very painful. After light breakfast, we trek down, and reach club solaries, now its morning time around 10:30 peek time, and traffic jam on kothrud area. After this trekking we were on 2nd, just 25 pts behind , and our target is to scored 100 in cycling.
Phase-2 : (Cycling and Rock climbing) 12:00 noon we have to report @ Club Solaries (Tag line: feel alive)
Cycling : 250 mts X 4 laps – we are in hurry to get 100 points (finished in 2 mins), due to that one of my team member gets injured. First rank team also faced fumble up, and 3 rank team has good change to scored maximum here and get back to top slot, and they execute it very well and got 100 pts.
Rock climbing : Two walls, 40 fts wall, which is tough to climb, 50 fts wall, which has straight route, but distance betw stones are more than 40 fts wall, we put up decent show in rock climbing.
Anyways winning and lossing doesnt matter, participation in new event matters a lot, now i can say i have experience in trekking and rock climbing.
Life in Pune
Let me share, how come i landed in Pune?
As you some of you know that, many product development companies shut their shops from Bangalore and bring back to their home location, some of them are Apple, Riya, Accelrys etc. And i am one of them in Accelrys layoff. 4th Jan 2007 shocking news from all members of accelrys. After that i started preparing for interviews, appeared in big enterprise company, midsize OPDs, small product company etc. It was difficult for me to select where to go, already have 3 offers in feb 2007. But i gave development work as first priority, and decided to go for Persistent Systems @ Pune. I reached here in March 2007.
Bike came in my life during mid march, and after that life going smooth, no more standing in queue for buses like in Bangalore and Pune. No more south indian food, but i like south indian breakfast, still missing pongal of Oxford college’s canteen. One good thingin Pune is one can get movie tickets easily, becoz 6 multiplexes, and site like bookeazy.com will help in booking from office/home. For pizza lovers, Pune has more options like US pizza, Dominos, Pizzahut, Pizzacorner, Smokin Joes. Some good places for lunch/dinner;
- Chat Ghar – Baner, my favourite place, affordable rates, and speciallities like Rs.40 unlimited meal, and paratha combo.
- Greenpark – Baner, For parties that offer by companies :)
- Sadanand - Baner entrance from Mumbai-Pune Highway, visits once, i like garden courts and greenery.
- Rajwada - Baner, again costly cann’t afford alone. If you company pays for you then must visit, i visited once.
- Harvest club – Erandwane, visited twice for teemmates birthday party.
- China gate – Deccan, good food @ affordable price, and weekend you will find good croud due to FC road and college students.
- Nisarg – Erandwane, visited once for teammates birthday party, again it is costly for non-veg folks.
- Dominos – Baner, Kuch nahi to Dominos hai na? Closest and free home delivery
- US pizza – ShivajiNagar, Rs.100 unlimited pizza and salad, Lots of variety in salad, i guess we visited 7-8 times.
- Mc Donalds – Aundh, again my favourite place to hangout
- Shiv Sagar – Aundh, Nice south indian breakfast, i like mysore masala dosa.
Lots of places to visit specially in monsoon season, we went Sinhghard, Khadakwasla dam, mulasi-palse nearlonawala on bike, place like shirdi for devotees.
Sharing songs and pictures with Zune
Microsoft focuses on hardware market, and open new line of business. After Xbox 360 ’s launch, now new zune player comes with beta version. Some of the awesome things about zune is sharing songs and pictures to your friends.

Playing with Qt 4

- cross plateform graphical widget toolkit for the development of GUI programs.
- produced by norwegian company called TrollTech, formaly known as Quasar Technologies.
I am using Windows platform. I installed yesterday and gave CONFIGURE -platform win32-msvc command to configure for win32 system and also integrate with VC++ 6, and that process took whole day.
Today i started with chhota mota program.. first Hello word program in GUI and then develop slider program: when you move slider it will increase/decrease LCDNumber value. First i develope .ui file using Qt designer. Following commands make .exe file for your GUI program;
- uic <file-name.ui> -o ui_file-name.h : user interface compiler compiles .ui file and create C++ code that is in .h file
- now we have to create main.cpp file which will use the class defined in .h file

- qmake -project : which will create project file (.pro)
- qmake : creates platform specific makefile on the project file
- make / nmake : creates executable file… (make for *nix , nmake for win32)
- now go to debug directory and run .exe file
Signal/Slot handles by moc ( meta object compiler ). Its very similar to event/message in VC++.
